Moveable marriages

Attended a talk organised by outpost today titled ' Moveable Marriages'. Fascinating facts esp as the speaker touched on quite a few things which really hit home. Among the points she higlighted:
1. Lost of income n financial independence
2. Career halt
3. Need to adjust to single income i.e. SINKY from DINKY
4. Communication

Well, I must admit I really do miss my financial independence, hubbyhas been fab - he lets me buy whatever I want within reason but I can't do it. Since everytime, I pick something up - I feel that I need to justify to him why i bought it. Just saying that I wanted it I feel is not enough a reason.Presently, the only reason I will go back to work is becoz of my financial independence...:))

At the end of the day, communication is the key to a lasting marriage. Syukur Alhamdullillah, we have managed to be able to communicate well. We learnt that esp during our 1st year of marriage..

I admit I used to get angry that he cud not pick up the phone to ring n wud prefer to email but now..I have gotten quite used to that.

On a lighter note, it's the last week of March and it is still COLD!!! The official spring day was a couple of days ago and it was 5 deg that day:)) I really can't wait for spring but am not looking forward to my hay fever..c'est la vie!!Yes! Human...never satisfied:))

Me birthday

Many thanks to Eza, Dil n not forgetting Soffy for the beautiful bouquet...yup! no pink:)) My birthday yesterday was the 2nd I have celebrated in Holland and 8th in Europe. Wow! I have been away from M'sia for a while now...wonder where we will be next year..

Overall, it was a quiet one as I was suffering from a headache which started the nite before. Nearly bit off hubby's head when he suggested we celebrate before we prayed Isya' at midnite. I was just afraid the headache wud become worse if I postponed the prayers. Anyway, opened all the cards after prayers..and the pressies which were stored under the bed for the past few days on my b'day itself. Lilac seems to be the theme as Tahira n Yasar gave me a lilac top.BTW, the flowers on the top came off with a lil help from me:)) They must have forgotten I don't like flowery things...Don't get me wrong, I do love flowers esp tulips but not flowery stuff..:)) the tomboy in me still prevails..

My 3 yr old sweetheart n 2 of my god daughters are March kids as well...Fish power:))

Think I'll stop rambling on...can feel the headache returning! So, it's time for a power nap..

Oops...last but not least Happy belated 2nd anniversary to Eza n Dil..2 years eh with no 2 in tow...excellent!

House arrest

Hubby put me on house arrest today :)) Boy! I can't believe I managed it. Was soooo tempted to clean the flat, do the ironing, empty the dishwasher BUT there was no way I wanna face hubby's wrath. Yes! Even the most laid back person can get pretty angry :))

In a way, it was nice to be able to put my feet up n do jack all. Thank God! I have the Chronicles of Narnia to read. Must say it is not as entertaining n gripping as Lord of The Rings but it's worth a read.

No need to do dutch homework this week since there are no classes :). A good friend of mine will be arriving w goodies from M'sia. Bateel dates.....ooooooo! I really love those...the ones that have candied lemon n orange peel. YUMMMMM! Wanted her to bring some toni's char kuey teow but don't want her to risk it. The customs at Schiphol can be quite a nuisance.

It snowed this morn and also in the afternoon but didn't stick. Hopefully, it will snow tonite but i bet it won't be as thick as last year. Well, better than nothing..
