een lui zondag

this has been a pretty quiet week since i was ill. pretty much stayed at home. even missed my badminton sess on mon!
however, i did go out on thurs to visit the peace palace. hmm....cud feel the presence of world justice there. visited the hall where the sipadan island case was tried. found out that the public can attend the case hearing. next case is bosnia herzegovina vs serbia montenegro - application of convention on the prevention and punishment of crime of genocide. the case will start end of feb...am really interested to attend. hopefully, i don't forget!!
it's the weekend so of course we have open houses to attend :)) went a friend's place yesterday..the trip around her table sent us round SEA. she cooked burmese laksa, siamese macaroni soup, bruneian rice and cendol medan!! of course both hubby n i tucked in esp since we were both fasting yesterday. we have another house to go to today n we are fasting. suffice to say, we will be stuffing our face in yet again!! need to control the intake as i need to lose at least 2 kgs more. MIL commented I have put on weight since I left KL in Feb, I have actually lost approx 4 kgs to date!!i definitely don't want to go back to my anorexic look when i got married!! well, c'est la vie!

Beautiful autumn day

It's such a beautiful sunny day today but it's cold! Temp is in the low teens...so the weather forecast say. I haven't been outside at all today as I am suffering from acute laryngitis.Prob brought on by the stress of preparing for our 1st eid open house. Till today, I can't believe we managed to squeeze in approx 50 people at one go....enjoyed it although it was pretty tiring! Our flat is still in a mess...tidying it up slowly. Thank God for the floral gifts, our flat looks lovely even though it is in a tip!i am kicking myself for leaving most of the vases I got as wedding gifts in KL as well. All jugs have been converted into vases for the time being. The flowers were all in a pail before!!

Am actually looking forward to hosting my next open house...wonder where it will be held...I think I know how much food to cook as well so that there will be not too much surplus. We'll see..But need to have more culinary training from mum in law first. Was very dissapointed w my rendang!

Het Suikerfeest

Eid...food! Am recovering slowly from yesterday. Tried to control the portions of food I had but... After the do at the embassy, we went to five open houses - granted it is not as many as we wud go to in m'sia but still the same amount of damage if not more! The day ended at 12:30 am!! This evening, we're off to Rotterdam for another 2 open houses!?! My poor GI system...

Hubbs and I are planning to host an open house soon since we're off to Egypt in a few weeks time. Am really looking forward to this trip..it's such a nice feeling to know that I can come back to Holland after that. No threat of being deported to M'sia, insya Allah!

I'm giving my brain a rest....got totally confused during the dutch lesson this morning. Left the class w a glazed look...Ik vindt altijd grammatica is erg moeilijk.Ook in Engels. Het maak Nederlands meer moeilijk voor mij..Ik denk ik moet praat en leest meer Nederlands. Ja wel!Ik probeer..Ik heb niet 100% gedaan.
