Happy New Year

I am in the mood to cook. Not sure why..we're having prawns in thai green curry, fish cakes n choy sum. Not sure if I am gonna stir fry the choy sum in oyster sauce or just garlic....haven't decided yet. Will wait till hubby rings before i do the vege. On the stove presently, are the chick peas for hummus. hubby hinted that he hasn't had hummus for some time. Planning to bake some cupcakes tonite as a back up for a kenduri tomorrow. Attempting to make steamed apam tomorrow morn. 1st try so not sure if will succeed or not..hence the cupcakes for back up...:))

It's Awal Muharram tomorrow.The beginning of a new year..I am definitely looking forward this coming year.

Beautiful winter's day

It's a lovely winter's day albeit it is freezing cold. Nice and crisp.Temp is forecasted to go down to -6 deg tonite....brrrrr!But no snow...Syukur Alhamdulillah, the winds are not as strong as usual.Went to a farewell lunch wet last friday as it rained n the wind blew from all directions. An umbrella was pretty useless.
Went to a friend's cukur jambul do for her son yesterday. It was fab. Must say that it was the 1st one i've been to since being in Europe. Obviously didn't go to any while I was in London. Then again, people tend to go back home to do it...not many M'sians opt to deliver their children here. We are pretty spoilt w our healthcare system back home.
I am fasting today..have another 2 days to go i.e. fasting wise.Can't wait to have a nice hot milo in slightly over an hour's time from now.. :)

Sob sob sob

Hubby came home with bad news yesterday. We are not going to London...I was soooo looking forward to this trip but alas! His company wants him to go on a different course instead....Well, Allah has other plans for us.

Anyway, met up w a friend with her 2 lovely daughters and her newborn son. Thank God! They still remember me....yup! their 'nanny' is back in town :)) They are having a cukur jambul kenduri this weekend so bet all the usual suspects will be there.

Think have proscrastinated enuff, must start revising my dutch. Classes start again tomorrow...Ik ben moe maar ik moet oefening te doen.

Back to cold weather...bbbbrrrrrr

After 3 weeks in hot n humid Malaysia, we were greeted by 0 deg n no direct train to The Hague. My darling hubby had to lug our luggage up 2 different trains so much so we decided to cab it back to our flat. Our journey from the airport took 2 hours and a bit instead of an hour. Syukur Alhamdulillah, we were well rested during our flite back since we were ugraded to biz class :)
Hmm....just realised that I need to pack again soon for our trip to London. Feels like I am packing n unpacking esp in these past few months :)) Not complaining though since I love travelling. Am really looking forward to our trip to London...want to do all the things I didn't manage to during my 6 years of living there plus meeting up w all my friends.
Need to get back to my over due paper....or what my NKI collleagues prefer the term manuscript! Also, need to revise my dutch since I start my classes again this fri...
